World Information: MCU

Personal History: Happy

Personality:

Despite his Nickname, Happy is anything, but happy. He has a stern and surly countenance often appearing put out about having to do the things that Tony asks. He is a good boxer but when confronted with Tony’s “dirty boxing” and Natasha’s ninja spy skillset, he is no match. He feels humiliated when he is beaten by stronger opponents than himself, often going on the defensive.

He is a loyal friend and a trusted employee of Tony Stark. At first, he was a bodyguard/chauffeur for Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, in charge of protecting Pepper Potts. Tony, always seemed to put Happy in charge of what he holds closest to him, whether it be Pepper, Peter Parker or his own daughter, Morgan.

Happy is steadfast and loyal, even risking death to complete his task. He never thought twice about putting his life on the line to protect Stark Industries. He takes his job as head of Security very seriously, often being mocked as the forehead of security. Happy uses bluster and arguments to cover how hurt he is when other people belittle his job.

He may balk at having to deal with Peter Parker, using snark to express his displeasure, but in actuality, he is honored that Tony trusted him with Peter. Tony Stark’s death in Avengers Endgame hit Happy hard. He spent his entire adult life protecting Tony Stark and those he cared about, that he took on the mantle of protecting the people Tony loved after his death, offering Morgan cheeseburgers any time she wanted and flying the Stark jet to Europe to council Peter, giving him the motivation to build a new suit and save his friends. Happy has feelings for Peter’s Aunt May, but he would have protected Peter regardless because it is the right thing to do.

Happy feels certain guilt about the death of not only his boss but also his friend. Intellectually, he knows that there is nothing that he could have done to stop Tony or even help him, other than watch Morgan while Pepper was gone. Happy always had his back... always... and the one time he couldn't, his friend died. It is a big burden to carry.

Boss-

You know that I don't have the right words to say what I want, not like you. No one could ever be like you. I'm not sure giving the Kid E.D.I.T.H. was a good plan, not that he couldn't handle it, but I think that once again you underestimated your importance in Peter's life. Look, I get it, man, probably better than most but you gotta know that the kid is devastated at losing you like there was anything that he could do to stop it. He's not the only one.

It's like a piece of me is missing. I have a Tony-shaped hole in my heart and that is never gonna leave. You would have loved it, man. Everyone turned out for your memorial, probably not as upscale as you would have liked, but Morgan... Morgan is a mini-you, even down to her cheeseburger fetish, don't worry I won't tell Pep. I'm trying here I am... but everyone misses you. You were the hero, Tony Stark.

Happy.
